How Daniel Allan went viral on TikTok after dropping on Sound
Daniel Allan was the third artist to drop on Sound, and he continues to be a top grossing artist. In 2023, he released his track “I Just Need” in collaboration with Lyrah as part of his Duality EP. The track went viral on Instagram Reels and TikTok shortly after.
His growth on Sound has contributed to his success in the traditional streaming world, helping him reach new fans, and allowing him to increase earnings across his catalog. He even got a secondary sale worth $480 on “I Just Need” just as the track broke 3M streams.
“Since minting my first Music NFT in April of 2021 - I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world making beats with my friends… Web3 has unlocked a new set of tools for independent artists such as myself, and releasing on Sound has been liberating - you can put out a song the day you make it, and get paid for your work”

Takeaways from Daniel’s Success
Daniel Allan spent 18 months deeply immersed in the Web3 culture and connecting with collectors before his breakout track went viral this year. To date, he’s dropped 33 tracks and has appeared on 30, each with its own unique story. Daniel’s journey is the product of persistence and experimentation. He’s dropped consistently and has taken advantage of all of our features, including the Sound Feed, various drop formats, integrated splits capabilities, and protocol. He’s also rewarded collectors with a private group chat, special presale discounts, and airdrops.
His collaboration with other artists was another defining factor in his success. Over the last few months, Daniel dropped his entire DUALITY EP on Sound, including top Sound artists like bloody white and Lyrah. In the spirit of collaboration, he also launched his label Family Affair on Sound. It’s a dedicated place for his music experiments and collaborations.
